I spent most of my working life directing opera and theatre and then as I grew older and changed career I had fewer and fewer opportunities to direct. I was never a particularly good director nor was I deeply committed to it, however that didn’t stop me missing it. When a crisis occurred and I was stuck at home having cancer treatment I speculated that a phone box could make a decent, mini (one person) theatre and that it would work particularly well as a platform for my interest in computer generated voice acting.
